From the Asia region in the 2023-2025 release, four species from Indonesia are included in the list: the Simakobu, along with the Tapanuli Orangutan, Sangihe Tarsier, and Bornean Banded. This 2023-2025 edition, also decided to add an “Other Considered List” for species that are considered equally endangered. Five other endemic Mentawai species are included in this list, which is one of the main highlights of this report.

Permen P106

Ministry of Environment and Forestry Regulation No. P106 of 2018 is the latest amendment regarding protected plant and animal species. This regulation repeals Ministry of Environment and Forestry Regulation No. P92 of 2018, Ministry of Environment and Forestry Regulation No. P20, and Government Regulation No. 7 of 1999.

Macaca siberu and Presbytis siberu are not yet included in the list because, at the time this regulation was issued, they were still considered to be one species with Macaca pagensis and Presbytis potenziani, respectively.
